SEWING ROOM DRAGONS!!

Some time last year Momma Cat found the most adorable little stuffed dragon at, where else, JoAnn Fabrics and Craft Stores.  She bought one for Baby Cat too.

A while later, the store started carrying the very small ones, so she bought one each for her and Baby Cat.

Yesterday, she found a much bigger one, and she brought one home.  Now she has three of them!  She calls them her Sewing Room Dragons.

TY Beanie Boos.  The smallest one has a clip, so you can attach it to your bag.

These dragons prefer Momma's sewing room.  Notice their soulful purple eyes!

Sewing Room Dragons hang out in your sewing room.  They make you smile and they keep your spirits up, even on gloomy, dark winter days! Sometimes you have to chase them off of your sewing table, or in this case, your ironing board.  But, they are completely harmless, and totally loyal.  However, they will spit fire at your foes, if necessary!!

Momma Cat loves their big purple eyes!  These dragons also are available in pink with green eyes!  So, if you don't have at least one Sewing Room Dragon, you need to get one soon!

Momma Cat thinks they would look cute suspended from the ceiling, but hasn't come up with a viable plan on how to do that!  Any suggestions???

NEW SEWING TABLE FOR MOMMA CAT!

It finally came!  Momma Cat's new sewing table finally arrived yesterday afternoon!  Momma has been waiting for weeks because of all the bad weather here and all over the country, but it's finally here!

Don't think of that as a complaint!  Momma knows that trucks and drivers were stranded all across the country due to really lousy ice and snow conditions.  Momma is very grateful that they were finally able to get through it all!  Poor drivers!  Thanks to all you drivers out there!  Where would we all be without you?

After Momma Cat came home from work last night, Daddy Cat took the table out of the box and set it up in Momma's sewing room for her.  Here it is with Momma's new serger on top of it.  Isn't it cute?

Momma's New Sewing Table with her Brother 1034D on top!
Momma bought this cute little table from the JoAnn.com website.  It's made by Arrow Cabinets, and it's called a "Gidget 1".  It's an adorable name for a little table that is sturdy and folds up, so that you can store it when it's not in use.  Or, in Momma's case, when Baby Cat and her husband come to visit and Momma turns the sewing room back into a bedroom!  Portable is nice!  It also has an adjustment in the table, so that you can raise and lower a portion of the table top, so that you can put a standard sewing machine in it, and adjust it to just the right height!

Little by little the sewing room is coming together!  It's always nice to have furniture and tools that are designed to make your crafting more delightful!!  Now let's see what Momma makes!

DOLL DOPPELGANGER

Momma Cat and Baby Cat have a very sweet friend, who we will call Catcat.  Baby Cat met her while she was away at College, and she's become a very good friend of the Cat family.

This is a picture of Catcat holding her doll doppelganger.

Merry Christmas Catcat!!

Momma Cat bought this doll and made her an entirely new outfit, complete with shoes.  Momma had intended to sell her.  But, she and Baby Cat both thought this Madame Alexander doll looked so much like Catcat, that she just had to have her for her Christmas present!  Catcat also likes dolls!

We probably all have doll doppelgangers out there somewhere.  Hopefully we get a chance to meet them someday! It's fun to think about anyway!

NEW ADDITIONS TO THE "CAT" HOUSEHOLD

Momma Cat loves dolls!  You all know that by now.  But, what you didn't know is HOW MUCH!

Momma Cat had a Betsy McCall doll when she was little.  But somewhere during the course of time, that doll was given away.  Momma Cat has always wanted to replace her, but until recently, couldn't find an affordable option.  This little doll is exactly like the one Momma Cat had as a kitten, but this doll has a brand new outfit, by Robert Tonner!  She even has little pink shoes!  Momma bought the doll without clothing, and bought the outfit separately.

What do you think? Doesn't she look smashing in her flowery dress and little pink shoes?  Momma Cat really loves her!

After Betsy, Momma Cat found this adorable little Asian doll, by Madame Alexander, that has her own Panda bear!  She came without her tag or original box.  She and her Panda are in excellent condition!  She has cute little pigtails too!

Momma Cat found another Madame Alexander doll on eBay.  This one has a beautiful face and wonderful hairdo, but came without clothing.  Momma is going to make clothes for her eventually.  But, here she is as she came to Momma Cat's house.

Right after Christmas, Momma found this adorable little Peter Pan doll, by Madame Alexander, and she decided to buy him.  He is in perfect condition, with his original box.  He is a welcome addition to Momma's collection, which is woefully short on boy dolls! In addition to everything else, his price was very reasonable.

Look at him!  Isn't he adorable? She just had to buy him!  I'm sure you'll all agree!

Momma had forgotten about the Nancy Ann Storybook Dolls for awhile.  Occasionally Momma will find one at an antique store, or a doll show.  She has received a couple of them as gifts too.  She found this little adorable on eBay.

This doll is hard plastic, with moveable arms, legs, and sleep eyes.  She came without a box, or her tag.  But, she is so incredibly cute, and in very good shape, it really doesn't matter to Momma Cat at all.  Look at her sweet little face and her pretty dress.  She is very tiny too, at only 5 1/2 inches tall.

Momma is getting quite a collection of these cute little dolls, but she has yet to find an affordable boy doll to add to them.  Oh well, the quest goes on...........

BUSY, SNOWY, WINTER!!

Momma Cat has been very busy working all through the holiday season and into the new year!  She and Daddy Cat were lucky enough to have all their baby cats home for Christmas again this year!  It was a lovely holiday, but way, way, too short!

Momma Cat's Christmas tree

Momma Cat has been working on a few projects, which are not even close to being completed! But, one thing she did do was get her NEW SERGER out of the box, set it up, and give it a trial run!  It's so cute, and she's excited about learning what it can do!

Momma Cat's Birthday Present!
Momma just ordered a new sewing table so she can have a place to put her serger while still having her sewing machine set up.  She tried using an old card table.  Way too shaky!!! Her serger is a Brother 1034D.  Daddy Cat bought it for her birthday back in November and she is just now finding the time to play with it!  Thank you Daddy Cat!!!

Last week and this week there has been a lot of snow in Momma's neck of the woods!  Today the Cats woke up to snow a foot deep in the yard, so Momma was able to finally take a snow day off!

Last night before bedtime!

The view out our front door.

Our neighbor's backyard this morning.
Momma Cat's backyard this morning.  Can you see the birdbath under the tree?
So now you can see why Momma Cat didn't go to work!  The streets were impassable, and trecherous.  So She decided to stay home and sew!

Momma is currently working on some baby gifts for a new nephew, a bag for her niece, and a crochet doll project.  Once any of these projects is completed she will show them on her blog.  Until then, stay warm and stay safe.  Stay home if you can!  And sew, sew, sew!!!
