Great Antique Store Find...a vintage nightgown to go with my bed jacket!

Since I am now on winter break, I should theoretically be posting more often, right? I actually haven't been too lazy about making things, just about blogging about them. I am working on a crocheted gingerbread house that will hopefully be done soon. I am hoping to have it done by Christmas but we'll see... it is taking longer than expected. I've also got a couple of other projects going, so hopefully I will have something to show for those pretty soon.

This post isn't about something I made but something I bought at my favorite antiques place, the Main Street Collector's Mall in Milwaukie! Part of what I love about this place is the soda fountain, where their hand-mixed sodas are so much better than anything you could buy in a bottle or can. They also have lots of cool stuff, some of which I would consider antique or vintage, some of which I remember from my childhood (definitely not antique yet, haha). Their stuff can sometimes be expensive because it isn't a thrift store, but this nightgown was 50% off so I only paid $12.50 for it! I think it is so pretty and the pink and white will go perfectly with the bed jacket I just made.

Here is a picture of my cute new nightgown!
And here is a close-up of the pretty lace on the top.
I was hanging out at the Collector's Mall with Baby Brother Cat and we were just getting ready to leave when I saw the fabric peaking out of a basket. When I saw what it was and that it looked like it would fit me, I asked him to talk me out of it, lest I spend too much money. Then I saw the 50% off sign and decided it was worth it, and I am very happy I did!

Sweet dreams of pretty vintage things!

My final Table Project!

I just had my final review for my table project that I have been working on all term and I am so happy! The review went very well; my reviewers really liked my design and had some good ideas for how I could add brackets in the top to make the frame more rigid, or how I could make tops of different colors and materials to switch out with the steel ones I have now (which I really like, but it could be fun to make them changeable!)

I am also really happy that I now have a cute new set of nesting tables to add some style to my decor, and that I am one project closer to winter break! I just have one final left next Wednesday and I can officially start focusing on Christmasy things!

Below is the brochure I turned in with my table so you can see my design and construction processes.

So that's what I've been up to all term, I'm glad to have the finished product but I hope to make more furniture sometime because it was a lot of fun! Right now I can't decide if I should sleep for twelve hours or start studying for my last final.
