HELLO KITTY x 2 = FUN!!

Momma Cat just finished another adorable Hello Kitty dress and here's her little model showing it off.

It's a pastel version of an earlier dress that I made for my other doll, Misumi, pictured below with my little model.

Momma Cat loves both of her little dolls and thinks they both look adorable in their little dresses.  What do you think?

Also, Momma Cat needs to name her little model.  So, if you have any name suggestions, please let her know!  The sooner the better! It's getting tiresome referring to her as her little model.

NEW TREASURES FROM SAM'S ATTIC!

FRIDAY morning, as I was walking home, I stopped by Sam's Attic, an eclectic thrift store located right on the corner of 17th and Tenino in Sellwood, Portland, Oregon.  

Now, I have found many treasures in there before, but this time I scored BIG-TIME!

First, I found these beautiful teacups, for about $13 each, to add to our collection for Baby Cat's bridal shower. They are in beautiful shape and they are both English bone china.

They are both nicely decorated with pretty flowers inside the cups.  Now here's the view from the side.

These will make a nice addition to our collection, now totaling 24!  Never thought I'd be a teacup collector, but there you are!  After Baby Cat's bridal shower, they will all belong to her.

WHILE  I was looking for the teacups  I found this cute little doll puzzle (you know how I love dolls!), for $2.  So, of course I had to buy it!

You probably already noticed these dolls, although dressed very differently,  all have the same face, so it's not going to be that easy to do.  But, I know we will have many fun hours putting this together.  At least, I hope so!


THE BIGGEST SCORE  though, was this sweet little swivel-rocking chair, at $35!  It's in great shape, and it's only missing one of the arm covers, which I can easily replace with some really cute fabric.

The best thing is that it fits me so that my feet can sit flat on the floor!  Daddy Cat says it's comfortable for him as well.  The cat even loves it!

Our kitty got a treat from this purchase too.  Lodged in the bottom of one of the legs was a cute little toy mouse in perfect condition!  We pried it out and our little MidnaCat  has been having a wild time with it ever since!  

LAST, but not least, I saw this adorable wooden dollhouse at Sam's Attic.

So I texted my friend Jennifer, of Plushpussycat fame, and told her about it.  Last thing I heard, Jennifer had purchased the dollhouse to add to her collection!  It is very cute, with two stories and an attic, unfinished.  I know she'll have a blast fixing it up. 

So all in all, a major score for all concerned!

SAM'S ATTIC is a great place to shop.  All the items are donated, most are in great shape, and it is run entirely by volunteers. The store is only open on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, from about 11am-4pm.  But, if you like thrift stores, this one is definitely worth checking out!

Momma Cat and Plushpussycat Go To A Doll Show!

What do you think would happen if you combined Momma Cat with Plushpussycat, and sent them to a doll show?

Well, I'll tell you, it was an entire morning filled with  fun!

Momma Cat (doll enthusiast) and Plushpusscat (miniaturist), had so much stuff to look at that it took hours!  Daddy Cat and Plushy's (that's what I'm calling her for short) husband were plenty worried I'll tell you!  But, both lady cats had a good time looking at all the tempting items, and each made a couple of sweet purchases.

Momma Cat bought these two lovelies;

The first lovely is a Nancy Ann Storybook Doll.  That's all we know about her except she was extremely cute and terribly inexpensive.  Momma Cat could not resist.

The second lovely is a Marmie Doll, made by Madame Alexander in the 1950's.  The dress on this doll is reproduction fashioned from the doll's original dress.  But, WE DON'T CARE!  Because Marmie  is absolutely stunning in every way, and our hearts melt every time we look at her sweet little face.

For those of you that don't already know, Marmie is the mother character in a book by Louisa May Alcott, entitled Little Women.  If you haven't read it, give yourself a little treat.  In fact, read that, and then read Little Men.  I promise you won't be sorry!

Now Plushy bought some cute little things too, and I do mean little, since she's into miniatures.  But you'll have to look at her blog to see what she purchased, because she wants to show them to you herself.  She bought several really cute little items that will work well in her doll houses, or can be used for her giveaway prizes.  So go to Plushpussycat.com and see what our friend bought.

Baby Cat was not available to go to the doll show today because she and Boyfriend Cat are up on Mt. Hood snow-shoeing.  Doesn't that sound like a dangerous thing for a little cat to do?  I told her to fake a leg injury so that she could go to the doll show instead.  But, she wouldn't do it.  She wanted to be with Boyfriend Cat instead.  Go figure!
