HELLO KITTY x 2 = FUN!!

Momma Cat just finished another adorable Hello Kitty dress and here's her little model showing it off.

Pastel Hello Kitty dress on 18" Madame Alexander doll

It's a pastel version of an earlier dress that I made for my other doll, Misumi, pictured below with my little model.

Misumi, also Madame Alexander,  in Neon Hello Kitty
Momma Cat loves both of her little dolls and thinks they both look adorable in their little dresses.  What do you think?

Also, Momma Cat needs to name her little model.  So, if you have any name suggestions, please let her know!  The sooner the better! It's getting tiresome referring to her as her little model.

INSTANT HELLO KITTY SKIRT!

Baby Cat made a new skirt in about 5 minutes! How is this possible? This fabric is made with a smocked portion at the top, so all you need to do is sew one seam to make a dress for a child or a skirt for an adult!

This is what the fabric looks like before any sewing is done.

Step 1: Buy instant-dress fabric long enough to go all the way around your hips, with a 5/8'' seam allowance.

Fold top to inside for narrower wasteband.
Step 2: For a narrower wasteband, fold over top to inside, pin, and stitch along existing smocking stitch line.
Stitch along existing smocking stitch line.

Step 3: With right sites together, pin edges and stitch 5/8'' from edge. Zigzag stitch or use pinking shears to keep edges from unraveling. Trim seam. Be careful stitching through multiple layers of smocked material, Baby Cat broke a needle that way!

Iron if needed, and you are DONE! You now have a cute new skirt and it didn't even take all day! Baby Cat loves her skirt and the Hello Kitty faces and black and fuscia polka-dots just make it too cute!

JoAnn Fabrics has this type of fabric in multiple colors and patterns in case you are not a Hello Kitty fan or even if you just want to try something different! Some of the designs are longer in case you want an instant dress or longer skirt. This one is only a little longer than mid-thigh.

I hope this post inspires you to make your own cute instant skirt!

A Kitty for Momma Cat's Mothers Day!

Baby Cat and Baby Brother Cat weren't able to come home for Mother's Day this year.  They were too busy at school.  But, Daddy Cat  and I were able to go visit them the week before and spend some time with them.  Baby Cat was presiding over an art show opening that she was in charge of.  So, Boyfriend Cat, Baby Brother Cat, Boyfriend Cat's Mom and Dad, Baby Brother Cat's friends and some of Baby Cat's friends were there too, plus a lot of other people.

The art show opening was a big hit.  We all had a good time at the reception, with some delicious treats and some live music and poetry reading.  We all went to Starbuck's afterward to enjoy some coffee.  It was so crowded that all the parent cats had to sit at a separate table from all the kid cats! Too bad!

Anyway, Baby Cat and Baby Brother Cat gave me my Mothers Day gift that day.  Here it is.

A Kitty for a Cat

This is a soap or lotion dispenser.  It's so cute!  I took it home and I ordered my favorite lotion  to go in it from my Avon Lady, Angie Cat.  I can't wait until Monday, then I'll get my lotion, fill up my Kitty, and  then I'll be soft and smell good too!

Thanks Baby Cat and Baby Brother Cat!  You made your Momma Cat very happy!

LOL
