BABY CAT'S WEDDING GLOVES ARE DONE!

Wedding Gloves
I started making these gloves to go with my wedding dress way back in December! Like a lot of my other wedding stuff, they are made with cream colored Bamboo Pop yarn, which is a current favorite of Momma Cat's and mine. It's pretty, soft, and not too expensive, and you actually get a lot out of one skein.
Jane Austen Knits

I got the yarn and the pattern book Jane Austen Knits at our favorite yarn shop, Yarntastic Fiber Arts! I was already thinking of wanting some long gloves to go with my dress, and this book had so many pretty patterns, I just couldn't resist it. I will probably knit some other, non-wedding related things from this book in the future.

The flower long-stemmed flower pattern worked is a nice detail that made the gloves a little more interesting to work on while I was knitting row after row. The gloves reach 3/4 of the way up my arm, no wonder they took so long! Luckily, they weren't quite as bad as my thigh-high socks since they didn't have as many stitches per row.

Me trying on the gloves with my wedding dress! Just kidding, this is just what I happened to be wearing yesterday :)

These gloves are going to be my entry in the Multnomah County Fair this year since I haven't had time to make any dolls in awhile. Wish me luck!

A BEAUTIFUL GIFT FROM FUTUREMOM CAT

Baby Cat's Futuremom (also known as FiancéCat's mom and Maureen Cat) has been working on a very special wedding gift for Baby Cat!

Baby Cat received this gorgeous hand-crocheted keepsake purse from Futuremom Cat this past weekend! The cream-colored yarn that Futuremom used matches the beautiful stole that Momma Cat made for Baby Cat, so they will go perfectly together! A brooch fit for a princess, and stunning beaded details in Baby Cat and Fiancé Cat's wedding colors (blue and silver, if we haven't already mentioned it) make this wonderful gift even more special.

Baby Cat found another lovely surprise inside the purse, this sweet handkerchief with delicate blue lace around the edges, the perfect "something blue."

Futuremom Cat even took great care in wrapping the gift. Baby Cat loves the sparkly blue fabric she used, and the pretty white and silver box!

Thank you for the amazing gift, Futuremom!

Love,

Baby Cat

HEIRLOOM WEDDING CAKE TOPPER

We inherited many beautiful and special crochet patterns from Grandma Cat. When Baby Cat saw this one, she just couldn't resist the adorbs and knew she had to make one for her wedding cake!

Recognize these two cuties?
It looks like someone turned Baby Cat and Fiancé Cat into crochet dolls again!
Baby Cat crocheted the whole thing using Aunt Lydia's crochet thread, then blocked each piece and used a fabric stiffener to make them hold their shape. Baby and Fiancé Cat's wedding colors are represented in the royal blue satin ribbon and delicate silver beads, as well as the tiny bouquet. Momma Cat and Baby Cat combed the entire floral department at the JoAnn's Superstore in search of miniature blue and white flowers, only to find this perfect ready-made bouquet in the scrapbooking section!

This is the original picture from the book, Baby Cat altered it just a bit to fit her and Fiancé Cat's wedding style

Mini Fiancé Cat has curly blond doll hair. Baby Cat tried brown curly doll hair on her own miniature but it proved too poofy and unruly when she tried to style it (just like Baby Cat's Hair can sometimes be in real life!) so yarn hair seemed like a better option. Mini Baby Cat's hairstyle is very similar to the one she plans to have at the wedding

The whole thing is 6'' in diameter and 7'' tall and cuter than stuffing!
